Samsung Unbox Your Phone

As part of the Galaxy S8 Launch, Samsung became the second company to use the new broadcast media type ‘Fade-to-Black’ unit. This successful campaign’s goal was to sell the brand story “Unbox Your Phone.” Every commercial break was bookended by an effective short 3-second advertisement, followed by the 30 or 60-second commercial at the end of the show. This new media unit mimics consumer social media usage of Snapchat and Instagram.
